POST PANDEMIC EFFECT

Technology has made the world a global village and has limited the boundaries of traditional work culture. A year ago, excluding the IT sector, traditional work culture was confined to pens and paper and 9 to 5 jobs. Though the advancement in technology was booming in India, in many sectors due to inefficacies of skilled manpower, modifications could not be implemented; as a result, our country dropped behind in many regions. The developed countries are flourishing and always in peak demand because their manpower has welcomed technology wholeheartedly and adapted to it.

However, this pandemic has changed the whole work scenario. The office culture has transformed itself into a work-from-home culture, and the stipulated working hours have been extended into any hour. The most interesting thing about the pandemic is that those who were not interested in upgrading themselves are now skilled professionals. On one hand, this pandemic is making us tech savvy, but on the other hand, technology is making us more introverted. It’s been more than two years since we were all confined within the four walls of our house, doing work from home and only stepping out when we needed something. In the name of socialisation, we are attending virtual meetings, functions, and programmes but not in proper dress code. We are working, but at ease and in our own time. The pandemic has killed the work ethos.

However, it has made the work force more productive and more experienced. It taught them how to do smart and effective work under pressure and on time, but it has restricted their limits. It has bound them into their comfort zone. In the future, they may face little difficulty in coming out of their comfort zone and adapting to office culture. But the employees will attune themselves and work with full force.

However, in India, the most popular line in the office is the “chalta hai attitude,” after becoming a skilled professional and understanding the urgency of completing work on time in pandemic years. This attitude may take a leave from the work culture.
